Settling In
Hello, lovely souls! Fall is here, and we’re settling into a new season at Between the Lines. As the book moves closer to its next chapter, we’re preparing for what’s ahead, hitting the road for a few fall events, and sharing a little more of the story behind Between the Lines: A Safe Space. Whether you’re new here or returning for another issue, we’re glad you’re along for the journey.

On The Horizon
Between the Lines: A Safe Space is getting closer to the finish line! As we wrap up copy editing, the book will soon move into beta reading, giving a small group of readers the chance to experience the story and share their feedback before we enter the final sages of production. We’re excited to keep moving forward toward a Spring 2027 release.

We’re taking Between the Lines: A Safe Space on the road! Join us at three Pride celebrations across the Triangle, where we’ll be sharing more about our debut novel and giving you a taste of what’s to come. If you’re nearby, stop by our booth and say hello, we’d love to meet you!
Holly Springs Pride

We’ll be attending the 3rd Annual Holly Springs Pride Festival this September. This year’s celebration Proud to Be Me, brings together the community for a day of LGBTQIA+ pride, visibility, and connection. We’re excited to kick off our fall events in Holly Springs and celebrate alongside the community.
Durham Pride

We’ll be attending the Durham Pride Vendor & Food Truck Rodeo this September. This year’s theme, Always Forward, Never Straight: Preserving History, Coming Home, celebrates LGBTQIA+ history, community, and progress. We’re looking forward to spending the day in Durham and being part of a celebration rooted in community and history.
Wake Forest Pride

We’ll be attending the 3rd Annual Wake Forest Pride Festival this October. The festival celebrates LGBTQIA+ pride, visibility, and inclusion. We’re excited to close out our fall events in Wake Forest and share on more day of Pride with the community.

What's in a Name?
There’s a little more behind the Between the Lines series and the title of its first book, A Safe Space, than you might see at first glance.
Between the Lines
Not everything is as simple as it appears on the surface. Sometimes understanding the full story means looking a little closer at what goes unsaid, the patterns that emerge, and the meaning beneath what we first see. That idea became the heart of Between the Lines, a series where there’s often more to a moment than what appears on the page.
A Safe Space
A safe space isn’t always a physical place. Sometimes it can be found in another person, in a connection, or simply in having somewhere you feel free to be yourself. But creating that space takes more than one person offering it, it also takes trust, vulnerability, and the willingness to step inside. That idea sits quietly at the heart of A Safe Space and the relationships that shape its story.

Happy Pride Month to all the lovely souls reading this! Welcome back to Between the Lines. This season, we’re reflecting on a recent milestone, opening the door to new opportunities, and spending time with two of the characters at the center of the story. Whether you’re new here or returning, we’re glad you’re along for the journey.

Soundscapes
Between the Lines Soundscapes is currently in development. This growing collection explores the honey-lit warmth of falling in love, the ache of distance and longing, and the quiet moments that linger in between. Each soundscape is designed to capture the emotional atmosphere surrounding the story. More to come.
Our Journey
In May, Between the Lines attended it’s first-ever book event at the Rainbow Book Fair in New York City. From sharing a five-minute excerpt to meeting readers, writers, and fellow creatives, the experience marked an exciting new chapter for
the upcoming series.

Jack Addison: Jack moves through the world with magnetic ease, always aware of the roles he’s expected to play as an actor. But beneath the charm is someone quietly struggling to outrun the parts of himself he doesn’t know how to fully face.
But the closer someone gets to him, the harder it becomes to tell where the role ends and where the real person begins.
Eric Graham: Eric has a way of making people feel seen. As a compassionate and deeply intuitive person, he becomes one of the few people capable of seeing beyond Jack’s carefully guarded layers, even when Jack tries to disappear behind them.
Eric loves with a level of selflessness that often asks more from him than he knows how to give back to himself.
